Leith and the Atlantic: A Couple of Upcoming Readings
A quick heads-up about two readings coming very soon.
First, on Wednesday evening this week (3 July), I’m reading alongside Janette Ayachi, Vahni Capildeo and Rob A Mackenzie at the Yellow Bench Cafe in Leith, Edinburgh at 7:30 pm. In addition, the marvellous Ira Lightman will perform two mini-sets. Five entirely distinctive voices in what promises to be a memorable night. Free, but donations would be nice. It’s a Bring Your Own Bottle venue, and bottles are opened for a small corkage fee. There’s a Facebook event here.
Secondly, on Wednesday next week (10 July), I will be reading online along with the Californian poet Michelle Bitting as part of Robert Peake’s Transatlantic Poetry Readings On Air series using Google+. Kick-off is 8 pm. There will be a live Q&A at the end of the reading, and event will be availble on YouTube afterwards. Here’s the Google+ event page. Do sign up and be part of this unique experience. As Robert puts it, Hollywood meets Holyrood for a poetry reading and live Q&A from more than 6,000 miles apart! You can, of course, take part from anywhere in the world with a half-decent broadband connection.
